Paseo- Dog walking app

Paseo is a mobile application that connects dog owners with dog walkers and helps them find the right match. As a product designer, I was responsible for the end to end process, from the research, building and design of the mobile application.

The problem

Dog owners find it difficult to trust strangers to take care of their furry friends. The challenge was to find a way to improve this search experience for dog owners and help them find someone trustworthy and the best experience for their dogs.

The solution

Dog owners want to feel that they know the dog walker and get a glimpse of what their dog's day would be like. They want feel as if they could be part of their day, even while being away.

The solution, create an app where pet walkers can upload content of their walks with the dogs as well of have direct communication with the dog owner.

User Research

In the conducted interviews with dog owners around my area, the main concern was they would rather leave their dogs with friends or family because there's trust and direct communication with them to receive updates from their pets.

After studying services in the market, I developed a persona based on all the information from interviews and research.

User flow

I created a user flow that was easy to navigate and would help in the ever stressful process of finding the right dog walker.

Wireframes

After taking in consideration all the findings in the research process, I work on some ideas to create the wireframes and built the visual design from there.

Visual Design

The goal with the visual design was to create a happy and playful experience for the user.

Prototype

Reflections

This project helped me to see how important user research, market research, prototyping and user testing is to create a product that users want to experience. Also, doing iterations early in the design process saves the designer time.
